Screen printing
The Bodyscapes series started off as monotypes. Each print was different in the combination of colours and direction of the artwork. The combination of layered colours was a happy accident.
By mixing acrylic colours diluted with the liberal addition of acrylic medium, this series of images feel more like watercolours. The chance overlap of one colour with multiple other colours in fluid shapes based on the female form creates these polychromatic ‘bodycapes’, flowing, changing, and pulsing.
Axel is now printing a limited edition run of three of these monotypes on Lambeth 370 gsm paper.
